Donna Cercone – Founder of Cercone Learning Music Method and Mega Learning

There are many excellent musicians that have been able to accomplish their musical goals through the Note-by-Note System, the conventional method.

What concerned Cercone the most was the huge number of people who took lessons for years but were unable to play the piano like they wanted to. And she herself was about ready to give up on music because she also was not getting the results that she wanted.

The most often heard comment is: “I took lessong for years and now can’t play!”

Having taught many subjects in junior and senior high, she looked at the methodology of teach- ing music and finally realized:

“Wait, we are NOT READING music, we are only be trained to SPELL music!
No wonder we have problems! Would I like to SPELL a book?

Therefore this piano method has been created and refined over the years to teach the reading of music rather than the spelling and to reach the huge number of people who want to play music but do not have the hours to put in that the professional musicians have had to do.

Donna Cercone has over 50 years in education. She taught junior and senior high. She started experimenting with education the minute she stepped into her first classroom with 45 Bored 7th graders (She taught in a private school.) and knowing that she disliked boredom, she immediately started experiment with:

“What would access the genius mind? How can I make learning easier and enjoyable.”

Her techiques worked so successfully that the 7th grade boys approached her toward the end of the school year and said:

“We don’t want school to end this year!”

None of the students did and neither did she! She continued applying these learning techniques while teaching in high school and has now applied them to the teaching of music.

She is now able to teach the READING of MUSIC – where we think
with our mind but speak with our hand. She has developed the
curriculum and written the needed music theory
books in accelerated learning style to support that.
